Not a manufacturer but an importer of porcelain produced in Japan and other countries, the Lenwile Ardalt Company started importing to the U.S. in 1945. Ardalt items, although created by different manufacturers, all display a certain delicate and often quite elegant appearance – as does this refined pitcher, which combines an almost severe classical body with a charming band of exquisitely modeled grapes and leaves. Use it as a functional item (but with utmost care, please!), or merely place it where it can be properly admired.
